Given my regular rants about OK food at expensive prices in Stockholm, I thought it was time I gave a favorable food review. On Thursday, I met a friend at Divino for lunch (see their site at Divino). And while it was by no means an inexpensive lunch, it was good. In fact, it was one of the better meals that I have had in Stockholm in quite some time.
We both had the business lunch. A mini starter came first and included a butternut squash soup, focaccia bread (very yummy) and a salad. And then the chicken main was beautifully served and tasted fantastic. Divino has been rated best Italian in Stockholm by the White Guide and it’s easy to see why. I had eaten at the deli next door before, but never at the restaurant. I was more than pleased with the restaurant.

Apart from being hungry, this looks delicious!
It was good Maria. Mostly, I was just happy to have a great meal in Stockholm.
Lunch? Their web site says they open at 18:00? Sounds wonderful though. I just had a gastly pasta last night here in Ă–stersund.
Yup. I was definitely there at lunch Tom. I know because it was way less expensive than dinner. But if you go, call first in case they have changed their habits in less than a week…there was only one other table with customers, so it was not busy.
Sorry to hear about your meal though. How can you mess up pasta so badly?
Mmmmmm…. That sounds/looks nice. Gotta try Divino next time in Stockholm.
Here is, by the way, an interesting article and interview with the Guide Micheline inspector on his views of Culinary Stockholm.
“Stockholm has become a gastronomic destination”

Bamse: It is definitely good Italian, as are Portofino and Mancini. Thanks for the article. I will check it out.
