“You have to go. They have the best margaritas and the best Mexican food in town.” So said my friend Elissa the other day. Given my Mexican food obsession, I had to check out Bakersfield in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Their web site said that they have “Mexican-influenced street fare with a focus on tacos, tequilas and whiskeys.” OK by me. I met up with a group of girlfriends to see if Bakersfield lived up to the hype. And the verdict: I had the best tacos, chips, guacamole and salsa that I’ve had in a long time. And the margarita? I think it may have been the best I’ve ever had. But I had to have a second one just to make sure.

Hey, that pastor taco looks right up my alley! Looks amazing! I may have to make fajitas tonight…mmmm.
Oh yum! And are the margaritas served in jars? Or are they just funny-looking glasses?
My partner and I are going to be over in Sweden later this year too! We’re planning to head to Stockholm for a few days, and then down to Lund to have Christmas with my relatives 🙂
Do you have any recommendations for Stockholm? Stupid question, of course! I’ll need to trawl back through some of your older posts to find some of the lovely restaurants you’ve recommended over the years!
I take it the margarita testers enjoyed their job? 🙂 Looks like a great place to hit the next time I’m in Cincy. I’m a big fan of tacos de pastor and it looks like they prepare them well! Que rico!
The margaritas were served in jars Christian. As for Stockholm, keep me posted as to when and let me know a bit more what you are up for and I would be glad to help!
Kezia, The margarita testers worked hard, but they were up for the job! As for the restaurant, you will definitely have to check it out.
