On Thursday before the day got too hot, we walked around the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney. The gardens are such an oasis of green right smack in the middle of the city and surrounded by the Sydney Opera House, Circular Quay and Macquarie Street. Signs encourage you to walk on the grass and you’re likely to see parrots, cockatoos and geese, fruit bats, eels and more. It’s a good place to hang out.
