Surviving Stockholm’s winter

Me and my shadow on one of our rare sunny, but snowy days.

While I may complain about being tired of my snow boots, I am not yet tired of the snow. And I think the reason why is rather physical. I have – thus far – done a good job of getting through this winter without my usual case of  SAD or sunlight deficiency.

I have been attributing it to working out regularly, eating lots of salmon and using my energy light. And while I am sure all that has helped, I think the biggest difference with this winter is that we have had snow on the ground all winter. It has not snowed and melted, instead it has been around and accumulated regularly since before Christmas.

Thus we have had that white stuff to brighten up an otherwise exceptionally gray and cold winter. I think that has made all the difference for me. So keep the snow coming. I can take it as long as it keeps my winter light filled.

Lately, I’ve even been thinking I will miss the snow when we travel to Australia soon. OK, that is rather  twisted. Maybe I am sunlight deprived and deranged after all?
