A view looking out over snow-covered rooftops of Södermalm.

A view looking out over snow-covered rooftops of Södermalm. Both photos by Robert Corkery.

The wintery blanket of snow that covers the city is still here, but the icy frosting that has coated the tress has melted for the most part. The icy trees made the snow more magical and I miss it already. Now we are just back to regular winter. I am glad the snow is still here at least.

This fence on Södermalm serves as a stark contrast to the wintery white landscape.

On the sidewalks, the snow has mixed with the sandy/gravel mix that the city puts down for traction to create what looks like sand on the beach. The light tan color that results looks like a sandy beach and it feels sort of like a sandy beach under my boots as well.

Thanks Mary. Many are mine, but more are my husband Robert’s. In fact, these are his.

Robert’s “red fence” photo is really good. Like it a lot!
