Stockholm's short summer

“Well, summer is over. This is what the rest of our summer will be like,” said Robert this morning as we gloomily looked out the window at the rain. I hate when he does this. It depresses me. At this point, I  still need to believe that the rest of the summer will be sunny and warm – not rainy and cool like it is today. Even if Robert is right that the rest of our summer will be like today, I don’t want to acknowledge that. Instead, let me hope that the real summer weather will reappear.

Realistically speaking, I know that warm summer days are rare in this part of the world. I should just be happy for the sun and not worry about the warm. I even acknowledge that last week I wrote that I was afraid that my summer days were limited. But just let me dream of more beach time at Långholmen, Riddarholmen  and on the archipelago for now.

Tell Robert to stop being such a pessimist. I need optimism when it comes to weather…even if he is right, he needs to keep it to himself!!!

I came to see you a few years ago at the end of July and we had absolutely gorgeous summer weather…sunny and very warm. I remember having to go buy a tank top at H&M. So, maybe Robert’s prediction will be proven wrong by the weather gods….
