Stockholm fashion show

in Shopping in Stockholm,Stockholm

I’ve been dressing in a fashion flashback lately that has been making me feel like I am back in the early 90s again. My favorite uniform these days is a long sweater or tunic-style shirt over leggings tucked into boots. It’s so comfy that I feel like I live in my pajamas and so trendy these days in Stockholm that I feel like I should break out of the mold. But it’s just too easy to stick with. Especially when my choice is backed up by the fashion world.

Last night, I went with my friends Carmen and MB to a fashion show. We trekked it out to Lidingö – one of the posh areas just outside of the city – for the show that was hosted by a shop called Mingla and held at Restaurang Jernet. With my admission, I got a glass of wine and a shrimp appetizer sandwich and then had a ringside seat to watch models of a variety of ages wearing all sorts of variations of my uniform. I had to laugh. Especially when I think back to when I first moved here and was horrified by how many people dressed in exactly the same way – at that time, the Canada Goose jacket was worn by young and old, men and women of all ages. I vowed never to be so conformist. But now I find myself right in there with the trends. Maybe I should be worried?

Remember the fashion show we went to years ago at the Cincinnati Art Museum? I always giggle when I think of that evening!

Don’t worry you always look very trendy and nice. You can pull it off. It is a great look for you. I would be worried if you took my plain jane dress.

Aren’t you nice, MB. And I am sorry, but you don’t have any plain Jane clothing!

As long as you are comfortable…. Would be awful to follow a trend and be uncomfortable!! I like the way you dress.
