Snowstorm in Stockholm

in Stockholm,Travels

The snow started again last night and it just keeps coming. It is truly beautiful and the city has been given a completely new and wintery look. But today the snow is not just gently falling, rather it is blowing in powerful blasts. I went for a walk this morning with my friend MB on Djurgården and at times we could not see even a few feet in front of us thanks to the huge gusts of snow. It was tough going at points and I think that MB was even wondering if we were going to lose our way.

The marsipanbåten: a boat where you can buy all sorts of Christmas treats, including marzipan.

A calmer version of Stockholm: the marsipanbåten. On board this boat parked along Strandvågen, you can buy all sorts of Christmas treats, including marzipan.

Only a few people were out on the normally busy path and we decided that we now qualify as strong Nordic women thanks to battling the blizzard. By the time we were done, we both looked a bit like Frosty with the snow coating over us.

So much fun and I am sore from trecking in the snow. Can’t wait to see the Winter White photos.
