Snow in Stockholm – at last!

The snow view yesterday morning.

The snow view yesterday morning.

Monday night, it started lightly snowing about 10 o’clock or so and it continued all day yesterday. By last night, we were living in a proverbial winter wonderland and I am loving it as this is our first real snow of the season.

These bikes were going no where.

Bikes by the train station.

At times, the flakes were  fat and fluffy and I was not able to see the island of Kungsholmen out my window. At other points in the day, the snow was merely a fine powder. But by last night, the snow had blanketed the city and there is about 12 centimeters on the ground. The sounds of the city have become muffled and all is lovely.

Enjoying the snow.

I really look like I am battling the elements, don't I?

Robert and I took a walk about 9 last night and there were lots of people out walking dogs and enjoying the snow. There were sled tracks in the park, but no one was taking a ride at this point. Four teenage boys were sculpting a gorgeous and shapely snow woman lying on the ground, which was actually pretty well done.

Taking a walk around 10 pm last night, all was silent.

Taking a walk last night, all was calm, all was bright.

More snow is predicted for later tonight. I think it is fantastic.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
