For the wine tasting on Tuesday, I picked up some cheese to accompany it. And at long last, I went to THE cheese store: Wijnjas Grosshandel on Kungsholmen. I’d heard about this place for years, but never been there. So I was keen to finally check it out.
From the entrance, it looks more like you are walking into a garage than a store, but once you’re inside you know you’ve found a good thing and you immediately want to tell others about it. There’s an amazing assortment of cheeses of all sorts, some meats, chocolates, olive oils and crackers. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful and I think I will have to become a regular. By the way, there is also an affiliated wine and cheese restaurant on Scheelegatan that I am now going to have to check out too. Check out their website: wijnjas for more information.
