I’ve got a new favorite outdoor hangout – Ljunggrens Terrassen. We were there on Friday night with friends and had such a fun time that we’re all ready to go back again. Located on a rooftop on Södermalm, Ljunggrens has been one of the hot places to go for quite a while, as evidenced by the typically long lines to get into the bar area.
The terrace has a stylish but laid-back New York feel and you can just have drinks or dinner there. But what made it particularly good on a cool summer evening is that the terrace is surrounded by buildings and the umbrellas over the tables and couches have heat lamps, so we were cozy. Roger and Nici got there early enough to reserve us part of a lounge area and so we stayed and had dinner too – we all opted for the Asian burger which came with pommes frites and kimchi and was pretty tasty, but not cheap at 195 Swedish crowns or $30 US dollars. A glass of wine costs between 85 and 115 or $13-17.70.
