Music to work out by

Music can make or break a workout class for me. Give me something with a good steady beat and catchy tune for spinning class and I am happy to work hard. I even like the unlikely remix of Johnny Cash’s Walk the Line using a techno/electro beat because it is such a great song to pump the cycle pedals to.

But play Islands in the Stream by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers as a cool down song and you lose me. I am not happy. In fact, I am bored. And I was already annoyed by the bad metal music earlier in the class. (I don’t get the Swedish love of metal and Dolly. It seems incongruous.) So that’s my workout rant. Give me better stuff tomorrow SATS.
