Royal wedding fever is hitting Stockholm. And the wedding is not until June. Not only is there an official slogan – Love 2010 Stockholm: The capital of Scandinavia – for Crown Princess Victoria’s wedding to Daniel Westling, there is now an official wedding chocolate. OK, I get the fact that this is a big event for Sweden. I get it that people will travel here for the wedding and that there are enough events scheduled for two weeks of festivities. I get it that there are people out there who would like to buy the official wedding china and crystal. I even get it that people want to buy those heinous porcelain collector plates with Victoria’s picture on them – but wedding chocolate, come on!
Every week in the paper I am reading about some new royal wedding official product. I can only imagine what the “love capital” will be like in the coming months before June 19th. Things are bound to get far more entertaining.

Instead of royalty, we just have Brad and Angelina. I want the real thing!
By the way, what is the opinion of Tiger Woods over there?
Leave it to me to elevate the conversation to the intellectual.
Hilarious Lisa. Most Swedes think Elin should have taken the golf club to Tiger! They support her all the way.
I agree with you, all this craziness about the royal-wedding, and you probably missed that a man has filed an official complaint against the royal arrangers for using English in ‘LOVE 2010’. I actually agree with him. Why is Swedish not good enough, they are after all the Swedish Royal family.
Brangelina is not comparable in my opinion, as they are definitely exchanged for another couple in one year or so. Our royals we have to live with until they die.
Elin, Take the money and run
//Good night Roger
Roger: I did see the story about the guy fighting the English title for the wedding festivities and I also have to agree that Swedish should have been used! His reasoning that foreigners would find the Swedish exotic is not so good, though. And Elin does indeed deserve the money….
