Icy streets of Stockholm

Ice skating at Brunsviken.

As the snow and cold have continued to stick around, the sidewalks of Stockholm have become increasingly tough to navigate. The snow has formed a hardened icy layer that looks like molten lava but is as solid as, well, ice. And it is slippery.

In the last few weeks, I have watched a lot of adults slip, slide and try their best to keep from falling on the ice. I have even seen one or two fall down. But tonight in front of my local grocery, I watched  a group of four-year-olds trying to fall down. In their snow suits, they were dive sliding on a particularly treacherous chunk of ice. It was hilarious. Outside of putting on skates, it seems like the best way to deal with the slippery mess as well.
