The center of Stockholm is made up of 14 islands. And even after living here for over six years, I am still fascinated by that fact. I like to drop that little tidbit into conversations when I meet people from other countries, casually telling them I live on an island called Södermalm. I think it sounds cool, especially since I always wanted to live on an island. Plus, in the tour books, Söder is described as the writer/artist/bohemian part of Stockholm, basically the city’s left bank. I’d like to think it makes me seem artsy by association. But I am thinking that it’s probably just wishful thinking.

From what I can make out from other people’s blogs, it’s one of the favourites to live on.
I like this post Sandra, well said. Is your old flat in this photo?
Maria: No, you can’t see the old place from here – it was further west.
