Life’s a beach and then you write

in Stockholm

On the beach at Alleviken in Uto.

Paradise in Stockholm's backyard: On the beach at Alléviken in Utö.

Could there be a more perfect job description than this: To test beaches on four continents. Go on excursions, relax on deck chairs, drink wine at local taverns and perform other common tasks in the beach and tourist environment.
In some locations, you may be required to receive a full body massage, test drinks, snorkel and read books. You must blog continuously during times when the beaches are tested, w
rite four separate stories about your experiences during these trips and take photos.

This is an actual job description – translated from Swedish – for a women’s magazine called Amelia here in Stockholm. Holy crap, can you imagine getting paid to lay on the beach and write about it all? I can. As can about a million other women, unfortunately. But oh, how sweet it is to dream! Check out the details here: strandtestare.

Hi Sandy, I thought this was a Stockholm beach, but I got confused. The other day I was surfing your website & this picture came up under travel tips Australia???

What an incredible job description! How on earth would they decide on the best candidate? “Now, ma’am, if you don’t mind, we’re going to have Sven here give you a full body massage, just to see how you handle it. I think it might be a good idea if you have a couple of cocktails beforehand as well. We have a sunbed and massage oil set up in the interview room, if you’ll just follow me.”
