Light shadows in the forest next to Judy's house.

These days, I am very much a city dweller, living my life in the center of Stockholm. But last week, I went out to my friend Judy’s for dinner. She lives just outside of the center in Saltsjöbaden, a seaside town whose name literally translates to salt sea baths. It always feels like I’m getting away from it all as I head to Saltsjöbaden as you take the charming old train, the Saltsjöbanan, to get there. And Judy’s place – with its forest and sea views – adds to that feeling.

The porch feels like a slice of New England in Sweden.

There are outdoor areas in all directions so you can enjoy the views.
