Goodbye Cincinnati

in Cincinnati: my hometown

I-471 bridge

The Cincinnati skyline at sunset as you approach the I-471 bridge.

I-471 bridge

I like how the beams from the bridge dissect the city.

I’m back in Stockholm now, but here are two of my last photos of Cincinnati. They’re both taken from the car, crossing the I-471 bridge from Newport, Kentucky, back into Cincinnati. As you make your way across, it feels like you could almost land right smack in the middle of the city. I love that. By the way, the official name of the bridge is the Daniel Carter Beard, but it’s more commonly known as the Big Mac Bridge thanks to its big, golden arches.

Mathias was hoping that we would drive across this bridge on our way to Lexington since it’s referenced in an Afghan Wigs song, but alas, we had to take a different route.

Anna, That is classic. You should show him the photo to make up for it!
