Eating & drinking in Stockholm: new edition

in Eating out in Stockholm,Stockholm's food,Stockholm's nightlife

No doubt like you, I am always looking for new places to eat and drink. Ideally, I want good food at good prices, but that’s not always easy in this town. (Especially the good price part.) So when I make a good discovery, I am happy to share it.

Last night, I had drinks with some girlfriends at Nobis Hotel. Some of you may remember that I ate at the Italian restaurant at the hotel just after it opened in December (see Caina) and that Prince Daniel was also there. In addition to being a good place to eat it, I have to say that the Lounge in the hotel is also a fun place to have a drink. Set up like a series of four very stylish living rooms next to each other, the Lounge is a great place to hang out. The ceiling is 28 meters high and the furniture is Scandinavian cool, with coffee table books and plants scattered around to add to the living room feel and all around good vibe.

Another good place to check out for dinner is B.A.R on Blasieholmen just behind the Grand Hotel. This seafood restaurant even has a takeaway bar where you can buy fish. The fish here is well prepared and the wait staff is friendly. And again, this is a cool looking place, minimalist in style. But I will warn you now – if you want to go for dinner, you have to book way in advance. B.A.R has become one of Stockholm’s trendy places and when I tried to book a Friday night dinner recently, there was a two-week wait for tables.

They both sound great! Pity I’m on the other side of the world 🙁

Thanks Christian. Although you’re in a pretty good place too.

Aye…and I have to say, it’s not as hard to get a good meal for a reasonable price here as it can be in Sweden…

You are right about that Christian!
