It’s funny how smells can remind you of home. For many, many years in the US, I used Aveda hair care products. But when I moved to Stockholm, there were no Aveda salons. So every time I went home, I came back with huge bottles of shampoo and conditioner. I just could not stand to be without it. Gradually, I decided I had to switch to Swedish products and I did, bit by bit.(It was almost like a metaphor for getting adjusted to life here, perhaps?)
But now, an Aveda salon has opened in Stockholm. I went to an event there last night and as soon as I walked in the door, I smelled the distinctive aroma of Aveda. I swear it instantly made me feel good and like I was back in college again, which is when I first started using this stuff. I felt even better after I had a hand massage and a mini back massage. If you’re an Aveda fan like me, check out Wig on Birger Jarlsgatan.

Nice post Sandra. I wish I could have been there with you girls. I would have enjoyed very much seeing this Aveda Salon in Stockholm. And good pics!
I love Aveda! Just yesterday, I was trying to figure out how to replenish my stock. My mom recently mailed two Aveda lipsticks too me and I was ecstatic.
Too funny Anna! You will have to stop by and get your Aveda fix! It’s a nice store.
I was on the subway platform at 125th Street in Harlem the other day and amidst all the varied underground smells, I caught a whiff of the lady standing next to me. Aveda. Lavender oil. I can identify that scent anywhere! It made me smile and enjoy standing and waiting a bit more.
Such a nice evening. I thought the Aveda Salon was so welcoming to all of the Americans here in Sweden,
Kezia, You are right. The smell is so wonderfully distinctive!
MB, It was a great night.
I am a huge Aveda fan and have used the products since college myself. I will be moving to Gothenburg from NYC later this year and hope that someone brings Aveda to that wonderful city.
Thank you for the post.

S, You are welcome. Good luck with the move, but don’t be surprised if you have to come to Stockholm to get the Aveda!
Hey thanks! I’ve been living in Stockholm for a year now! And super deprived of Aveda products! U are a life savior!
What is the exact address of the salon again? And are the prices reasonably similar as of those in NYC?
Thanks
