Last night, I got a little taste of Sweden here in Australia. I went to Robert’s conference dinner here in Adelaide. The entertainment: ABBA. Not the real ABBA, of course, but the Australian cover band ABBA that was also known as the Flaming Sambucas. The four band members were dressed in white silk outfits; the guys wearing blond Benny and Björn style wigs, the ladies wearing white silk dresses with Agnetha and Anni-Frid embroidered on the back just in case we weren’t sure who was the blonde and who was the brunette.
The band played all the most-loved ABBA hits and did all the appropriate dance moves. And the conference people loved it. From the first notes, the bulk of the international crowd of all ages hit the dance floor and grooved, shouting all the words, doing all the moves. It was hilarious and a lot of fun. I may be on the other side of the globe, but I still have ABBA rocking my world.
