A royal party

Gotta love the wedding hats.

Why were people around the world so fascinated with the wedding of William and Catherine? Do we just love a good wedding, is it the royalty and tradition or are we  just romantics? Maybe it’s a combination of all of the above. Whatever, the wedding provided millions of people around the world with a good excuse to celebrate – even my Mom in the US got up at 4.30 am to watch.

As for me, I went to a wedding party at my friend Zanne’s. There were about 15 women from all around the world there, including the US, Sweden, England and Japan. We did it up well, many of us wearing hats, dresses and tiaras – as I took the subway to the party in full party attire, a three-year-old Swedish girl pointed to my hat and said: “Look Mommy, I like that.” Besides champagne, we had scones with clotted cream, crisps, cheeses, lemon curd, finger sandwiches and other British “delicacies.” It was definitely a good excuse for a chick party.
