SOLTIDER FÖR STOCKHOLM, IDAG

Soluppgång kl. 03:36
9 minuter tidigare än förra veckan
Solens upp och nedgång Solnedgång kl. 21:57

This chart, courtesy of SMHI, is my main reason for LOVING this time of year in Stockholm. Basically, the sun was up today at 3.36 am, nine minutes earlier than last week. It will set at 9.57, 11 minutes later than last week. Not to brag – OK, maybe a little – but the light will still be in the sky long after that. No wonder I can’t seem to get to bad before 1 am. LOVE THE LIGHT!

I wouldn’t be able to cope with it. It gets light here at around 4am at the moment and it wakes me every morning, creeping in around the edges of the blackout blinds. The dawn chorus of the birds is another problem, with various cockerels around the village adding to it. It meand that although our bedroom gets very hot at night, we don’t want to leave a window open. I love the birds, but I do wish I could turn the volume down a bit.

Jane,
When/if the light wakes me up, I just put on my eye shades. As for the birds, they can also make me a bit nutty with their oh-so-early singing.
