“Hot” shopping tips for father’s day

Father's day gift ideas.

Father’s day or fars dag is Sunday here in Sweden. As I was out walking yesterday, I saw this ad for a men’s store. And then I stopped and stared. I think my mouth was probably open, too. And then I laughed. Out loud. On the sidewalk by myself. Call me crazy or lacking in vision, but in all my years of father’s day gift shopping, I have never bought my Dad underwear. Never have I seen a sexy man underwear advertisement and thought, “hmm, I should get some for Dad.” Sexy underwear is what I would give my husband. Not my fisherman, sports-loving, barbecuing Dad.

Second, let’s face it, the guy in this ad is HOT. He is not what I associate with a father figure, but more of – for lack of a more proper way to say it – someone to drool over. He is sexy. And again, these are not things that come to my mind when I think of father’s day.

Maybe it’s a cultural thing? I don’t know. All I can say is that’s one saucy ad.

If your mom did not think that your dad is sexy, he would not be your dad!

Good point Maureen. But I still don’t want to buy him underwear!

I love the advert because I’m not thinking of what it’s for. Just appreciate a good looking gent in a pair of red underwear. Thanks for this post, it’s fun and open minded.
WooHoo!

I’m entirely with you on this one! I suppose a young mother of a baby could buy them on behlaf of her child but even then that seems odd.

I once bought a pair of red silk underpants for a man friend’s 40th birthday as I couldn’t think what else to get him and it caused all sorts of problems and shock. That’s one thing I shall never do again! I thought his wife would like them, not think that there was something going on!
