Spending the holidays in the US took a little extra work this year. In Stockholm, my flight was delayed due to fog in Paris. Then when were finally scheduled to take off, we had missed our time slot on the runway thanks to the deicing process taking too long, so we had to wait again for the next available take off time.
And just like that, I missed my connection in Paris. As Robert had traveled on business in Italy, we were meeting in Paris to travel to Cincinnati together. So just like that, we were not traveling together as the airline advised him to go on without me due to full holiday flights. Once I finally got to Paris, the next available flight to Cincinnati was the next day. Thus I had to overnight in Paris. I agree that there are far worse places to be stuck overnight.
But Air France could not find my suitcase. Of course. At this point, I have to admit to feeling a bit sorry for myself as I was beginning to think I was going to spend Christmas alone in Paris. (Again, there are worse places to be stuck.) But I did get out at last on Thursday and arrived in the US to begin family Christmas celebrations.

I have wondered if your connections went smoothly…so sorry for you! Glad you finally made it home. Hope you are having a good trip now that you have landed! I’m not too excited about the multiple plane trips we will be making in January… but such is life when you live across the pond.
Tell your dad we’re cheering for the Bearcats on New Year’s day (although we won’t actually be watching it until the next day!)
Hugs to you and Robert.
Love,
Jodi
Glad you survived the awesome holiday travel!
Hope no one stole anything out of your bags, that happened to me on a KLM flight. delayed baggage = stolen goodies.
