The transformation of Stockholm

The snow-covered square at Slussen.

Looking down at Södermalms Torg from Gondolen restaurant last night, it was like I was seeing a different city. Cloaked in snow, the square has had a winter makeover and looks nothing like the place I am used to seeing.

The street almost looks like a ski hill.

It’s funny, I have even walked past my everyday destinations several times lately simply because they did not look familiar. I have to admit that it is nice to see the city from a new perspective.

By the way, dinner at Gondolen was excellent. It’s traditional Swedish fare done well. And the view can’t be beat, especially from the bar dining room.

The arctic view of Slussen.
