OK, I tried to resist, but ultimately I decided I had to share this. The night before I flew to the US, Robert called me from the Stockholm swimming pool where he had just done laps.
“I know you need to finish packing, but you have to see this. The place is already packed, even though it doesn’t start for an hour. Come join me. This is your kind of thing. You’ll love it. I’ll save you a seat.”
So I went. And it was definitely the most unusual holiday event I’ve ever been to. I’ve told you before about Lucia, the December 13th celebration in Sweden. Well, this Lucia took things a bit further: it was Lucia at the swimming pool. Basically, it was synchronized swimming with candles. Now that’s a combination worth checking out, right?
