Every stand had loads of sunflowers. No doubt the Van Gogh influence.

It tends to be packed with tennis-shoe wearing tourists buying bag fulls of tulip bulbs, but on Tuesday afternoon, the Bloemenmarkt or flower market was actually not too crowded. Located on the Singel canal on floating barges, the market has a gorgeous selection of blossoms of all sorts, bulbs, seed packets and potted plants for sale. And there were also a few Amsterdam specialties…

Tulips were a given. It's Holland, after all.

The bulbs were actually quite beautiful.

And wooden clogs were both painted and unpainted.

And then there was the starter kit. Hilarious. What else can you expect in Amsterdam!
