I had a little city break yesterday and took the Saltsjöbanan (train) to Saltsjöbaden. As this seaside town has a large boat harbor, it is a popular spot to hang out in the summer. But in the winter months, restaurants shut down and the place takes on a quieter air.
As soon as the train got out of the city, the winter landscape became prettier. Without the city traffic, the snow was more pristine and there was more of it. I felt like I had traveled much further than just a few miles outside of town. It was just what I needed in terms of enjoying and appreciating the snow again.
