I love the LIGHT. I know you’re probably thinking: Can she really do another post about the light deficit and excess in this part of the world? Answer: Heck, yeah!
We have had a streak of sunny days here in Stockholm and it has been fabulous. Wonderful. Even though it’s been cold, the sun is making up for it. I can almost feel all those months of gray fading from my memory.
On Sunday, I got out for a long walk with James, a blogging friend from Sydney. We met via our blogs several years back and have managed to get together in both Sweden and Australia and have a lot of fun.
James just arrived back in Stockholm, so we decided to get out and enjoy–or in my case, worship–the sun. We met at Slussen, then walked along Söder Malarstrand, across Västerbron (the west the bridge) and over to Kungsholmen and Norr Mälarstrand before ending back up at Slussen again.
It was great to be out. But by the time I got home, I was thoroughly chilled. That sun is nice, but don’t let it fool you: it’s still cold outside.

Oh that is so nice you met a friend through blogging. The weather has been amazing, doesn’t the sunshine make the biggest difference?
This winter has definitely been greyer and more depressing than most.
And now it’s snowing!!! Yay!
Oh, the sun makes a huge difference to me Lou Lou. And yes, it’s amazing the cool people you can meet via your blog. And guess what: you need to know him as he’s a fellow Sydneysider!
It’s been pretty uniformly gray Jane. But that helps us to appreciate the sun, right? (Notice the positive spin I am trying to give.)
Yay is right James! Glad you are getting to see some snow.
It’s so beautiful! I think I’d be too much of a wuss to stand on the ice though…
Christian – what a wuss! 🙂
