autumn colors

Autumn in all its glory.

While I was traveling, Stockholm turned to full-on autumn. There are no more of the it could almost be summer warm days, but rather it’s full-on need a coat and it’s almost winter kind of weather. I feel like it snuck up on me. At least all the trees are showing off their autumn colors.

On Sunday, Zanne and Micke drove us just outside of town to Sturehofs Slott – a classic Swedish castle – to enjoy the sunny autumn afternoon. We had fika – coffee, dessert and conversation – at Voltaire & vänners cafe there and then wandered around the castle gardens and to the water to enjoy the sun. I get this panicky feeling this time of year, something like, “oh my God the dark is coming and I have to absorb every possible moment of sunshine left while I can,”  so I was happy to be out. And it definitely was a gorgeous day.
