Stockholm was once again voted as one of the top destinations to travel to in 2014 (read the full story here in the Financial Times). In particular, Södermalm was described as the place to spend time to check out the fashion boutiques, coffee shops, beer gardens and galleries.
As I’ve lived on Söder for most of the years I’ve lived in Stockholm, I am happy about the continual good press it gets. But I have to keep a sense of humor about it. Because the island is always, always described as funky. And now, it’s apparently attracting “hipster weekenders.” Oh my.
The photos here are from a few back corners of Södermalm, taken last Sunday on one of the continually gray days that we’ve been having.
