Eating out in Stockholm

I have just finished yet another below average meal at a Stockholm restaurant. It’s so disappointing, especially since this is a place where I have typically had better than average food. I was at Berns Asian with a group of friends and the lunch was not only rather dull and overly salty, but also expensive. So now I feel like a paid a lot for something that did not leave me satisfied. At least the service was excellent. And I do love the look of the restaurant.

I get so tired of ranting over the boring and not so very good places to eat here. It leaves me frustrated. I refuse to believe that Swedes feel that is is acceptable for every restaurant to have basically the same things on their menus. Does every restaurant have to serve lax with potatoes in order to survive?

I remember eating in a restaurant in Gamla Stan an amazing seafood dish. In a very nice ambient, with excellent services. I must admit, a very expensive place. Unfortunatelly, I cannot recommend it to you, since I don’t remember the name.

Nice to find your page,
Larisa

Hullo! Found your blog via FrancisStrand, I love the Sweden-from-the-Outside perspective (bit of an addition for me 🙂 (and eps. as being the opposite, a Swede in the US).

As for food, have you tried reading http://matalskaren.taffel.se/ ? She writes about her travelling right now, but there’s bound to be a hefty amount of Sthlm there as well.
