Snow dump

My view of Riddarfjärden has been a bit polluted lately. The pretty, pristine view of the ice and snow covered lake had until recently only been broken by the ice breaker boats coming through. But for the past few weeks, dirty road snow has been dumped from Kungsholmen into the lake. But since the lake is frozen, there is no where for the stuff to go, thus leaving the lake look like a dirty snow dump.

I read in the paper last week that something like 60,ooo tons of snow has been dumped into Lake Mälaren. I understand that once you remove all that snow from the streets it has to go somewhere, but you have to wonder what all the road gunk will do to Mälaren once the snow and ice begins melting.
