Smoking hot in Sydney

Manly Beach

Even though it was 5.30, it was still hot at Manly Beach.

We woke up Saturday morning to temperatures of 33 degrees c by 9 am. By the afternoon, it had climbed up to 40. (That’s 91.4 and 104, my American friends!) Oh my, it was hot.

To escape the heat, we took the ferry to Manly Beach. That did not help. It was hot on the ferry too. But friends Jenny and Bill picked us up at Manly and we went directly to the beach. It was crowded, but oh it was so nice in the water. We body surfed – everyone else was more brave than me and went further out.

It was even hot after sunset.

Dinner was at China Beach later in the evening. We tried betel leaf appetizers, shrimp with chili and a snapper that was amazingly good. It wasn’t cheap, but everything we ate made me happy.

On the ferry back to Circular Quay, I finally felt cool.

Oh, what I would give for even a few degrees of that heat!

You are seriously killing me, Sand. The snow here in Chicago is up to my hip, tomorrow’s high is 10 degrees, and I can barely drive anywhere.

Hi Lisa, MB, Bryn and Antropologa, It is glorious to be in the warm weather. Today is cooler though, more like 80. And I am already feeling like there is no way that I can handle going back to Stockholm winter. I may have to go on strike.

I would go on strike if I were you!! Tracy and I walked to the Opera House today and it was slippery. We had some rain earlier. The fun just never stops.
