coffee shop

One of the unique to Amsterdam coffee shops.

After a morning canal tour, I spent the day walking around the city and figuring out the tram system – somehow, I managed to go the wrong way only twice! Unlike today, the day was sunny and warm. Here’s a photographic look around town.

In the tourist-packed red light district.

pancake house

Restaurants serving pancakes and crepes are everywhere. We had some very tasty ones here.

crazy jack

The "Crazy Jack" clock tower, so called because it never kept the right time.

amsterdam house

No matter how you photograph the houses, they always look crooked. That's because so many are.

seven bridges

Although you can't really tell from this photo, you can see seven bridges in a row here. Trust me.

Sorry Susan! I am always surprised how much I love this town. It’s got such a cool vibe.

Make sure to go to the Anne Frank huis, lines get really long so make surety go early! The Vondelpark is a great place to spend the afternoon relaxing, have they completed the Rijksmuseum renovations yet?

Hi Patrick,
Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve been to all your options on previous visits and did love the Anne Frank hus. I did go to the Van Gogh and Rijks museums again this time though…just couldn’t resist. And yes, the renovations will continue for quite some time.
