Shopping in the US

in Shopping in Stockholm,Travels

Thanks to not getting our suitcases and needing to do some Christmas shopping, we’ve spent a lot of our time in the US at shopping malls. It’s been a year since I’ve spent time in a US mall, so I have to say that I was ready for some good old American shopping. I was not disappointed. On average, prices are about half of what they are in Sweden. So anytime we purchased anything – be it lunch, a pair of jeans or even a bottle of wine – Robert would translate the amount into US dollars so that we could feel good about our savings. For instance, we bought lunch for both of us at a fast food noodle restaurant for the price of about two diet cokes in Stockholm.

By the way, we still do not have our suitcases! It’s now been 6 days since I last saw my bag. Come on Air France!

Oh, let me tell you, my mom and husband have been in Sweden since Tuesday (and at our place since Wednesday night), so six days, and still no luggage, and they go back tomorrow! Crazy!

Yikes! What airline? I’m Air France/Delta. And it has also been six days for us with no bags.

KLM! Actually Xmas day they went to the airport to make inquiries, and were told the bags would come today, but they surely didn’t.

Oh my, that is terrible. We just keeping trying to laugh about it. I just talked to the airline and while they were very nice, they have no idea where our bars are. Probably still in Paris. We will be doing a little shopping tomorrow which they will reimburse.

I’m impressed you could get anybody on the phone. We never could.

Well, now they’re on their way back. Don’t know what the bags are up to!

Nina’s bag showed up in Madison Christmas day (check her blog) so perhaps there is hope. We have been doing the same price comparisons. The fanciest Hotel in Spokane and other downtown restaurants have lunch (some even include beverage) for 35 SEK.

You have to be kidding. No suitcases!!! Hopefully you will be able to purchase a new wardrobe on Air France. Went to Macy yesterday and could not believe all the great buys.

xoxo
