Reconnecting with home

in Travels

During my time back in Cincinnati for the holidays, I have been busy reconnecting with family and friends. There is something so very easy about being back in my homeland. I know where to shop for what and how to get places but most importantly, I have a slew of old friends who quickly and easily welcome me back.

I was at a party the other night where about 20 or so friends had gathered. I could not walk a step without being mobbed with conversations and hugs. After about 20 minutes, my friend Chuck came up and said. “I’ve been trying to get through to you since you walked in but couldn’t get through the crowd. You are like a rock star.”

I have to say, it’s good to feel like a pseudo rock star, if only for a night. Any way I look at it, it’s good to be home.
