On the other end of the spectrum from Lydmar Hotel for outdoor dining is Loopen. Located in a marina at Hornstull Strand, Loopen is is where Sweden meets the Caribbean. It’s laid back and casual. On a warm day, it’s easy to imagine you are somewhere tropical. Loopen is made up of a series of floating docks, some of which are covered and/or enclosed. Palm trees – fake, of course – and tiki torches decorate the place. The music tends to be reggae and the view is directly over the water looking toward all the boats passing by.
A glass of wine here will cost you between 79 and 97 SEK ($12.50-15.50 US). The food tends to be well-prepared and good, although it consists pretty much of the standard Swedish bar stuff, including hamburgers, fish stew, caesar salad and shrimp salad, nachos and salmon with potatoes. Loopen is super casual, the kind of place you go to soak up the sun for a few hours.

It looks lovely, but I think I would want to take a rug with me. I’m glad you mentioned the palms being fake – I was just wondering how they got them to survive!
i dont know how i’ve still not gotten myself down there. sounds like my idea of heaven! well, short of the real tropical beach scene….
Susan, Let’s go together soon. It is such a great place to relax.
