They’re back! This week, the cherry blossoms have been in full bloom in Stockholm and Kungsträgården is packed with people checking them out. People of all ages and nationalities are there – in addition to Swedish and English, I heard Russian, Japanese, Finnish, Spanish and German. And everyone is taking photos with their cameras and phones – in front of me at one point, I counted 50 people posing with the blossoms. There’s something magical about this time of year. The blossoms are gorgeous, but even more than that I think they’re a sure sign of spring and people are happy to be outside again.
It’s cherry blossom time again in Stockholm

So beautiful! When I visited Stockholm it was probably the coldest I have ever been. That’s the problem with cheap flights in the off-season, I guess. Still, I’m glad I went; it’s such a lovely city.
Thanks Simon P. What time of year were you here? It definitely takes a long time to warm up this city. It can be chilly even in summer!
Dear Sandra ,
I love to visit Stockholm and see cherry in full blossom like in your blog.
When is the best time for that ?
Is spring coming a bit late this year ??
Thanks

Hi Saisamorn, The blossoms are usually out in Stockholm at the end of April or beginning of May. The last I checked, there were no buds at all yet, but that was about two weeks ago.
I will definitely post photos when the cherry trees are blooming.
Thanks for reading.
Dear Sandra:
Thank you for this amazing information. I will be visiting Stockholm at the end of this month and be there for three days. I’ve never seen Cherry blossoms in my life, yes I know! I always wanted to see them in DC, but I was wondering will they still be in bloom at the end of May? Also, IF you do not mind can I email you a tentative itinerary I have for three days and maybe you can help me out and let me know if the places sound worth seeing and of course if I can actually see all that in THREE days? 🙂 Many many thanks!
Meg
