End of summer blues in Stockholm

I made a major breakthrough in some writing for my book today. In spite of the spectacularly gorgeous weather, I had persevered and really got a lot accomplished. I was proud of my good old American work ethic and thought I deserved to take a break for a while. So I got out for a bike ride about  3.30.  And then I saw that hordes of people were  already out and enjoying the day: they were sitting on jetties and in cafes, jogging, sailing, rock climbing on the cliffs and swimming.  As I rode, I couldn’t help but wonder what took me so long to get out. Days like this are few and far between in Stockholm this time of year. I have to be like the Swedes and enjoy the warm sunshine while I can. I can work harder again on the long dark days of winter.

Enjoy the last few sunny, mild days! Autumn has arrived here with gales, rain and cold temperatures. Hope you’ll manage to avoid them.

Happy writing!
Steph
