El Taco Truck

Stockholm street food

El Taco Truck. Wanted: dead or alive. But hopefully alive and cooking.

I keep seeing El Taco Truck around town. It promises me “Genuin Mexikansk Mat. Sedan 2012. Hemlagat med Karlek” or authentic Mexican food, Since 2012, Homemade with love. There’s a window marked: “Hungrig? Beställ här!” or Hungry? Order here!

Oh yes, I am hungry for Mexican food that’s homemade with love. Right.here.in.Stockholm. I want it bad.

But life is so unfair. El Taco Truck is never open for business when I see it. It’s just parked. Tempting me with food that never materializes.

I tracked down a Facebook page and even a video about El Taco Truck, but I can’t find out when and where it is open for business. Now I’m on a mission. Yo quiero El Taco.

Good tips on my Facebook page about this post:
Brooke Decker: The El Taco truck is unpredictable, try the mission district burrito at http://zocalo.se/ at K25, had it tonight, doesn’t disappoint

I tried the carnitas pork tacos at Zocalo, and was not impressed, but the Mission District burrito was the real deal. The chicken had a nice smokey flavor and the beans and rice were perfection. I’d give it 4.5 out of 5 stars

Your quest for Mexian never ends. It will have a section in my book. Thanks for the reviews of Hornstull area. Try Very Italian Pizza. Tom

Have you tried La Neta, either on Barnhusgatan, Norrmalm or Östgötagatan, Södermalm? I have never been to Mexico or the southern parts of the United States, but La Neta is run by mexicans and their tacos seem pretty authentic to me.

Hello Royal pine, Thanks for the comment. I have been to La Neta and it is good. But I think Zocalo is much better. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
