Tasmania Governor's house

On our way in to the reception.

Last night, we had drinks at the Governor of Tasmania’s residence, courtesy of Robert’s conference. The house was completed in 1857 and was the perfect place for an evening reception. Governor Peter Underwood spoke and then we heard a saxophone quartet play Philip Glass. It was fun to get an inside peek at how the Australian government lives. I learned that Tasmania is part of the Commonwealth of Australia and also a self-governign state. Thus the governor is appointed by the Queen of England on the advice of the Premier.

How elegant to have such a beautiful invitation. It’s so fancy! And it looks as if you’ve had no problemo with jet-lag.

Enjoy your travels

Maria, I am doing well in terms of jet lag. And it is so nice to be in warm summer weather. Makes me feel alive!
