Last night, we went to dinner at our friend Giorgio’s. Being the proper Italian that he is, he made us homemade pizza and tiramisu. One after another, he rolled out the dough just so and created pizza after pizza, telling us stories about his childhood and what he was making as he worked. We sampled the basic Margherita, named after the queen and made with Italian flag colors – red, white and green or tomatoes, mozzarella and basil.
The Naples style pizza came with anchovies and the Roman pizza was called the ugly potato and had thin slices of potato on it. I have to say that I’ve never had potato on my pizza. But oh my, it was good. Addictive, actually. And I am not going to rub things in any further by even mentioning how wonderful the tiramisu was. Oh my!

Absolutely saliva-induced and the company is missed dearly! Makes you want to take a plane for wonderful pizza in the company of great friendship…
Maria and Alessandro: We wish you were there with us!
Guys it was a pleasure, and you know that “la porta della mia casa sono sempre aperte per gli amici” (my house’s door is always open for friends)
Thanks Giorgio!
Go Giorgio. Everthing sounds wonderful. Sorry we had to miss it.
