Ten years ago today, Robert and I were married in Canberra’s National Botanic gardens. We’ve been celebrating our anniversary for the last few days here in Australia. The hotel we were at gave us a bottle of champagne. Last night, we had a fabulous seafood dinner right on the water at Doyles on the Beach in Watson Bay, Sydney. The sunset was beautiful and it was so wonderful to eat outside in the warm air.
And this afternoon, we went back to the place where we had the wedding. The ceremony was held by a small pool on the lawn of the garden. A bearded dragon hung out on a rock nearby. And while we were taking photos, a kangaroo hopped by. It was a perfectly lovely spot to begin our lives together. Ten years later, I think our lives are even better.
