There are days when I realize I’ve been in Sweden for a long time. Yesterday was one of them. On a cloudy, looked like it might rain Sunday, Robert and I biked to Djurgården to meet some friends at a Baltic canal-side cafe called Djurgårdsbrunn.
We all sat outside in lounge chairs, hoping, waiting for a glimpse of sun every now and then so as to warm up a bit. “Are we crazy,” asked MB at one point, referring to our need to be outside, even though the weather was really rather crappy and we were chilled.
In fact, it is a rather Swedish need and we both knew it. I definitely would not have bothered to sit outside on this kind of day in Cincinnati.
By the way, on a sunny day, this is a perfect place to go. Check out Djurgårdsbrunn.

The young man with the beard and sunglasses, is he an American movie star? Or is that Rich? Just a curious reader…
Funny girl Maria! That is indeed Rich as well as Kathleen.
I haven’t even been here that long and I keep hanging around outside in the gloomy weather, too. Because it’s almost June! It’s unavoidable even though it feels like winter to me.
Antropologa, Ha! I am sure it does feel like winter to you. But for me, this is the nicest weather I’ve had in Sweden since September….yikes!
Sandra,
Love the post and Maria you are so funny!!! Well we should be out today it is perfect.
MB
MB; I should be outside instead of working, shouldn’t I? Hmmm…maybe I need to work outside on this amazing day.
You are beautiful with words!!! You captured perfectly the thoughts of everyone sitting there in the cold waiting for the sunshine. K
Why thanks Kathleen. I appreciate your kind words.
Yes, I’m funny! All I can think about in this picture is Rich the young movie star having cold ankles being he’s at 59 North!
