Australian wine wisdom

in Australia

On the back porch of the pub at Wee Jasper.

Robert and I have been sampling all sorts of wines from the Hilltops Region where we’ve been staying. All of the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignons have been fantastic.

The other day, we had a 2007 Merlot from Wee Jasper that was also good. But better than the wine was this from the label: “This wine guarantees to make even your friends seem more interesting.”

You have to love that promise.

OK I will try the Liffey burger…which costs $19.00 US. Actually I think the Liffey is the source of the $100 hamberger and beer lament.
Can you come back with a list of GOOD Australian wines that are in SYSTEM B. I don’t care if my friends are more interesting. I just would like something that was better than logom logom for 100SEK

Tom,
$19 for the burger, huh? And you wonder why I was grumbling about price. It’s why we eat at home.
To quote ABBA: Money, money. It’s a rich man’s world. Actually better than the Liffey burger is their fish and chips. They are the best in town! As for the wine, we can give suggestions.

Wine, Sunshine, quality asian food! I can barely read the blog without curling up in a ball and sucking my thumb. We’re still up to our butts in snow, though it is melting little by little. Looking forward to your return! Hugs to Robert.

Debora, It is really annoying isn’t it? I do feel bad about it and don’t mean to gloat. Glad to hear that the snow is starting to melt a little at least!
