A snowy day in Stockholm

snow roses

The snowy view of frozen roses from my bedroom window.

I wore my snow boots for the first time this season yesterday. It was impossible not to – the snow fell in wet fluffy flakes all day. It was the kind of snow where every time I went out, I got soaked. Hat, hair, gloves, scarf and jacket all stayed wet. The snow actually stuck to the ground, but it was such a heavy and wet snow that huge, slushy and hard to avoid puddles formed everywhere. I reached the point where I did not try to go around them, but rather slopped right through them. The wind was blustery and blew in gusts all day, making for quite the wintery weather day.

Today the snow has stopped, but it remains on the ground.

And the view from my kitchen window. Ironically, gardeners were working to replant rose bushes in the area just by the wall.

Not as much fun today. I spent my snow day at the rink.
