A snow fall

December 16, 2010

in Stockholm,Stockholm weather

It’s been snowing hard all day – the kind of snow that blows in gusts and makes it hard to see. It’s also heavy and I was covered with the white stuff within seconds of being out. There is another 10 centimeters or more of snow added to what’s already on the ground. It’s gorgeous.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I do love snow. But today, the snow did not love me. Within about 45 seconds of being out, I fell on the slippery stuff going down the steps next to my apartment. It was a classic cartoon type fall where both legs swooped out in front of me and I went down on my wrist, elbow and backside. I got right up, but oh, I am hurting now.

Antropologa, The snow has been amazing. It started here early this morning and is still going strong at 9.30 in the evening.

Kylie,
Nope, doesn’t seem to be anything broken. I’m just sore in a few places. By the way, it is still snowing!!

We had a snowstorm yesterday! They shut down the airports and stopped trains and busses.
This time the word “snow chaos” makes sense! 🙂
Today it is better to use the ice skates instead of the car.

Yesterday I wanted to visit a friend of mine. We had to cancel it for the second time because of the snow.
Unbelievable for Germany!

Enjoy the winter time and watch your steps.

Wow, that’s great Britta. We got over 10 cm here yesterday. And it’s still snowing. Of course, the headlines here were snow chaos again too. But nothing was shut down that I am aware of.
