Kungsholmen restaurant Stockholm

The last of the diners at Kungsholmen last night.

Last night, we ate dinner at Kungsholmen. Even on a Wednesday at 8.45, the place was packed. Our friend Tommy remarked as we walked in, “This place is trendy.” And maybe it is a bit in a California cool kind of way, but like every other time I have eaten there, the food was fantastic.

As I could not make up my mind as to what I wanted, I decided to have two appetizers. My Vietnamese beef salad was a terrific combination of flavors: cilantro and chili are always good with me. And my other dish was pure comfort food to me: a spicy version of chicken fritters served with salsa and guacamole. Yum.

I like Kungsholmen as they do a great job of creating new fusion dishes as well as classic Swedish favorites. The menu is broad, making it easy to satisfy a lot of different tastes. Kungsholmen link

The mini chicken fritters appetizer was good, but the guacamole could have used just a little zip.
